In our current society, we can’t be more familiar with the phrase ----the low carbon economy. We all take it for granted due to the fact the concept of low carbon economy enjoys a higher and higher popularity in our daily life, especially after today’s speech contestJ how can we achieve the goal of low carbon economy?

While some hold the opinion that it is a matter of the government or it is the business of some big enterprises or companies, and it has nothing to do with us. However, to achieve the aim of low carbon economy, the efforts of governments or enterprises is far from enough. Low carbon economy can’t go further without low carbon life styles. They are going side by side with each other.

So what’s low carbon life style?

Let’s look back on our daily life. Every morning as soon as you open your eyes, are you used to turn on the lights immediately when the room is bright enough as long as you draw the window curtains apart? Is that your habit that when you are brushing your teeth you leave the water tap running on? Are you accustomed to setting the temperature of the air conditioner in your office below 26 degrees Celsius? In general, A low-carbon lifestyle covers many aspects of our modern life, such as cooking, transportation, home heating, and holiday travel, which can be conducted in a way that gives the maximum reduction of personal carbon emissions. It is a life with low energy, low consumption, low expenses.

Nowadays, in our country, a newly emerging generation----- “low carbon generation” in the metropolis has set a good example for us. Traditional clockwork alarm has regained their preference instead of electronic alarm clock; they make sure to turn off the electric equipments like computers or lights after use; they try their clothes under the sunshine while avoiding tumble dryers; what’s more, they jog in the park nearby to replace the 30-min exercise on the electric treadmill; Paper cups will no longer be held in our hands and so on. The “low carbon generation” are taking immediate actions in every details of their life to demonstrate that low carbon economy is not the responsibility of governments or companies, but our duty as individuals. So, not only does low carbon life style mean a style of life, it means an attitude towards life.

We should follow the footprint of the low carbon generation and take every step to create our low carbon footprint.

Our path in life will not always be smooth. Setbacks can't be avoided. Failing an important exam, break up with boy or girl friend, or refused by a promising company, such setbacks are likely to get us down. Sometimes we fell so frustrated that we even burst into tears.

Drinkin coke is wonderful, despite the undesirble consequent hiccups. It's bitter, sour and peppery, but also sweet. And you'll even feel excited after gulping down a glass. I never forget last year’s school sports meeting. 1500-meter race was one of the most exciting. Before the race, my best friend XiaoShan had a goal to be No. 1. As a matter a fact, she is not so strong, but she is a sunny girl. She is active and likes doing sports. What’s more, she tries her best to achieve the goal, but I wonder if she is able to be the champion. There were eight players in the race. On the first lap, she was in the sixth place; On the second lap, the took the fourth place, she went on running and she ran toward her goal, the goal in her mind, Look! On the last lap, she was the first to pass the finishing line, she was the winner. Oh, great! She made it! Congratulations!

At that time, I knew a goal was so necessary and important. I made a decision : “I want to take part in the English Speaking Competition held in my school. What’s more, I will try my best to be No.1 in the competition as my best friend XiaoShan did in sports meet. ” I am sure of it. I still remembered what my English teacher said to us. He said :“if anyone took the first place in our school English speaking competition, he or she will be chose to take the competition held in Jinjiang. It’s a great honor!”

Though I can do well in my English written exams, however, to be honest, I am a little afraid to speak English in public. We all know a story similar to this: Two Men and a Bear. In the forest, when a bear attacked them, the thinner man quickly climbed up to the top of a tree and forgot his promise to the fatter guy, who could not climb the tree, about helping each other when in danger. Luckily, the fatter man saved himself. The fatter mat was very disappointed, and when they got together again, he said to the thinner man, "You are not my real friend. Only a friend in need is a friend indeed". This is a very familiar story. It illustrates to us what a friend should be like. It is, however, just a story.

I would like to tell you something about myself, my true feel-ings. When I was in Senior One, I had great difficulty in learning science subjects. I was unable to understand the teacher and 1 could not do the exercises or the homework. I believed that I was stupid and could not learn anything. The sky was gray and the grass was yellow those days. Everything was a mess in my brain. My classmate, a good student, whom I only considered as one of the classmates before, came to me with a smile. She told me that if I needed help, she would like to help me. As she was also very busy with her studies,I asked myself, "Could she help me? "Sev-eral days later, I knew the answer. Yes, she could. She did as much as she could. She made time every day to help me solve the problems and showed me many good ways to study science. Her patience and earnest nature touched me deeply. Money, which is considered by many to be of prime importance, makes it difficult to find true friendship. Is friendship only greeting each other on meeting? Two years ago, I came into this city of and started my college life , the most memorable journey of my life. I was just a shy and little girl that time. all the things seemed fresh to me: new faces, large library and physics lab etc. I breathed the air of college greedily, I was curious about class given by the teachers are provide us with information not only from our textbook but from other sources as well.I actively involved in student union and varies of association. But soon I realized that I do not make full use of my spare time ,so I got a part-time job to help a junior student with math lessons Besides,I also took part in activities concerning public welfare. We taught the kids there who could not afford school, I was deeply touched by their eagerness to learn, The precious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility on the shoulders of us--future teachers. The enrichment of experience taught me the significance of modesty,responsibility,tolerance,and perseverance.

And now I have been here two years. recalling to the two years, I think I have to talk about one thing--learning. learn how to study independently, learn how to get along with others, learn to love, learn to… oh, there are too much things we have to learn.

Comparing with senior high school, college is a rather different place. there aren’t so many people to watch you and guide you how to do something any more, neither are there so many students who share with you one dream. in college, you must think and study yourself, so you have to learn and practice to control yourself.
