大家看到的那座紀念碑，叫軍民壩紀念碑。碑上書寫着軍民共建，銅牆鐵臂八個大字，它是1992年三河鎮人民在重建家園時，根據羣眾提議，在此樹立的一座紀念碑，以紀念1991年三河古鎮遭受特大洪水時，合肥軍民其心協力，解救被洪水圍困的羣眾6000餘人，創造了百年不遇的洪水未淹死一人，未餓死一人，未病死一人的亙古奇蹟。

在英王路的斜對面，有一座古色古香的建築物它就是萬年台，清朝咸豐年間，三河建有兩座萬年台，前者為師傅所建，後者系徒弟所造，他們兩人建萬年台時，約定都用八根柱子，誰知第二年，師傅用偷樑換柱法，將柱子抽去四根，僅留下四根，所以城隍廟的萬年台只有四根頂樑，看上去十分精巧，雅觀，造型超過了他徒弟所建的大王廟萬年台，此萬年台系後重建的。

大家向右走，現在大家來到的就是古西街。街道不寬，全是青石板鋪就的路，兩側民居多建於明清時代，古西街原長五百來米，曾號稱五里古街。三河鎮在古時交通閉塞的情況下具有水鄉交通便捷的優勢，使這裏的商品經濟一時得到空前的繁榮。

三河街多，巷子也多，大小巷子26條。在眾多的巷子中，最著名的要數我們眼前的一人巷。因為它是三河最古老最悠長的深巷，進出只容一人通過。一人巷的盡頭有間民房，曾經是楊振寧博士客居的地方。楊振寧博士的母親羅孟華女士是三河人，一九三七年二一月，合肥淪陷，楊振寧隨母親到三河讀書，就客居在這間簡陋的民房內。

三河鎮位於肥西縣南端肥西、舒城、廬江三縣交界處，豐樂河、杭埠河在此匯合，經新河向東流約15公里入巢湖。北距合肥40公里，距上派鎮24公里，南距廬江縣城32公里，西距舒城縣城30公里。

就這樣，我們來到了這個古色古香的小鎮。拉我和姐姐的大爺是安徽人，他説話我們聽不太懂，他一邊拉，一邊給我們講解。

令我印象最深的便是小姐的閨房，最神奇的是，晴天可以看到彩虹。走到樓裏，大大的魚塘便映入我們的眼簾，魚塘中間有個長得像烏龜般的石頭，上面爬滿了烏龜和青蛙，池塘內還有兩條紅紅的金魚。石頭上面有亮閃閃硬幣，怎麼也看不出有什麼特別之處。

我們上樓，在樓上往下看，又看到了那個池塘，導遊走過來，拿起旁邊的木板，架在從上往下留出來的水中，一道美景就出現了，銀光閃閃的池塘邊，竟有一道彩虹。説實話，我見到的彩虹並不多，所以我很珍惜每次見到彩虹的時間。那一刻真的很美。

最令我羨慕的是三河民俗文化豐富多彩，體現了中國南北文化的交融。至今，春節至元宵節期間，民間仍自發舉辦耍龍燈、鬧旱船、河蚌舞等活動，特別是保持着挨家挨户的拜年，討喜糖的風俗，小孩每逢七年級早上都召集好夥伴拿個袋子去討糖果，不管認識不認識，只要説聲新年好!恭喜發財，都能得到一大把糖果，拜完年把糖果賣給小店換點花炮玩，其樂融融。端午節時，人們做粽子、玩龍舟。中秋節仍玩火把。婚喪娶嫁，仍抬花轎、請“良玩”，踩雲片糕表示步步高昇。保存着淳厚的民風。

古鎮三河地處合肥市肥西縣境內，位於巢湖之濱，與廬江縣、舒城縣相鄰，素有‘一步跨三縣，三縣聞雞鳴’之稱，是安徽省16個著名大鎮之一，合肥新十景之一。

古老的三河已經有2500多年的歷史了，因豐樂河、杭埠河和小南河三水流灌其間而得名。早在戰國時期古鎮就已具雛形，因為經常有許多水鳥在這裏聚集所以在那時又被稱為鵲渚、鵲岸;直到明朝才被稱為三河。在這三條河流中，主要的河道要數豐樂河和小南河了。鎮內，河水纏繞五里長街;鎮外，圩堤交錯，支津回互;具有外環兩岸、中峙三洲的獨特地貌，佔盡廬南水鄉地利，是安徽著名的魚米之鄉。因為這裏交通便利，本地的稻米魚蝦，上游的山貨特產，下游的絲綢百貨都經過此地集散後流向四面八方，故三河贏得了 ‘裝不完的三河’和‘皖中商品走廊’等美譽。

古鎮三河自古就是兵家必爭的戰略要地。歷史上是著名的古戰場。春秋戰國時期，在這裏發生過吳、楚之爭的鵲岸之戰。明末，張獻忠的農民起義軍利用三河為跳板攻打廬州，在三河繳獲雙檣巨舟300餘艘，並憑藉着三河的有利地形建立了水軍。清咸豐八年，太平軍將領陳玉成在此殲滅湘軍悍將李續賓部及曾國藩胞弟曾國華等共6000餘人，這就是史上有名的“三河大捷”。現今還保存有太平軍城牆遺址、大捷門等。

古鎮三河水鄉如夢，古河如畫。水多，河多，行走不方便，所以橋也自然多了起來，僅在小南河上就有三縣橋，望月橋，天然橋，人民橋等5座橋樑。這些橋，不但古韻猶存，而且座座橋名都有着不同的傳奇故事。就拿望月橋來説吧：望月橋是古鎮三河新建的風景橋，是一座拱形踏步單孔石橋。整座橋全是用厚青石鋪就，欄杆上皆有青石浮雕。晚上登上這座橋，仰望空中明月，俯瞰水中倒影，會給您詩一般的感受。在眾多橋樑中最為著名的還要數三縣橋了。或許大家會問為什麼會稱它為三縣橋呢，那是因為這座三縣橋是三河古鎮現存的古橋中歷史最久的一座，橫跨小南河上，位於古鎮的中心，成為連接肥西、舒城、廬江三縣的紐帶，所以稱三縣橋。由於整座橋全是用大料石搭建，所以當地人又稱它為石頭大橋。最令人稱奇的當數三縣橋的建橋工藝了，當年一塊塊橋石都是用煮熟的糯米加雞蛋清熬成的漿灌縫牢牢地粘結在一起的呢。

古鎮三河因水得名也因水而聞名。三河水美，水給古鎮帶來了靈性，但也不斷遭受水患之苦。特別是1991年7月11日16時17分，豐樂河水位高達14·23米，新圩段大堤潰決，古鎮三河遭受滅頂之災，被特大洪水吞沒。在那場震驚全國、震動世界的特大洪水面前，在黨中央、國務院的關心下，全國人民和國際友人的援助下，上下一心，軍民合力，解救被洪水圍困的羣眾6000餘人，創造了百年不遇的大水中未淹死一人、餓死一人、病死一人的亙古奇蹟。
