下面我們來到的是五四廣場。五四廣場南北縱長700米，總面積10餘公頃。五四廣場因“五四運動”而得名。眾所周知，1920xx年爆發的偉大的反帝愛國運動 ——“五四運動”的導火索是青島的主權問題。自1897年德國佔領青島後，中國人民就一直為收回青島的主權而努力。1920xx年日本取代德國佔領青島後，進而提出分割中國的“二十一條”，企圖“長期合法”佔領青島，引起了全國人民的反對。1920xx年11月第一次世界大戰結束。1920xx年1月在法國巴黎召開的 “和平會議”上，中國作為戰勝國出席會議，提出了收回青島主權等正當要求，卻遭到英、法、美、日等國的拒絕，並強行將青島的主權轉讓給日本。訊息傳來，全國震驚，北京學生於5月4日舉行遊行示威，強烈要求拒絕簽約，高呼“誓死力爭青島主權”，“還我山東，還我青島”等口號。學生的愛國行為得到了全國人民的支援，在舉國反對聲中，中國北洋政府被迫拒絕在巴黎和會上簽字，粉碎了日本企圖永久侵佔青島的陰謀，在中國人民的英勇鬥爭下，終於在1920xx年12月12 日收回青島主權，鑑予青島與“五四運動”這一特殊關係，青島市委、市政府決定將新建的廣場命名為“五四廣場”。

現在我們看到的這個高大、雄偉的火炬形紅色雕塑是青島市新市區的標誌性建築——“五月的風”，它重700噸，高近30米，最大直徑27米，當時是全國鋼製雕塑中最重的一個。雕塑突出表現了青島做為“五四運動”導火索這一歷史背景深含著催人向上的濃厚意蘊。火紅色螺旋向上的鋼板結構組合，以簡練的手法，簡潔的線條，濃厚的質感，表現了一股騰空而起的風給人以力量的震撼。

接下來我們看到的海面上正在噴湧的那個泉，是我國第一座海上百米噴泉。噴泉從海里直接抽取海水，噴湧的水住高達百米，所以在設計時選擇了距岸邊160米的距離，主要為防止噴泉的水霧對岸邊的設施及草坪腐蝕和鹽化。

在我們前面的這個灣是浮山灣，是20xx年奧運會的帆船比賽場地。

五四廣場被分為南北兩部分。北區北面那座高大雄偉的建築是青島市級機關辦公大樓，樓高53.1米，正面為正方形網狀，隱喻黨政機關作風嚴謹，紀律嚴明，正氣凜然。1994年7月份開始，中共青島市委、市政府個部門相繼遷入，新建的市級機關辦公大樓已成為青島建置百年的標誌性建築。

現在我們來到了音樂廣場。它於1999年3月開工，同年9月竣工開放。音樂廣場分為樹陣區、偏心園廣場、軟雕塑區、橢圓廣場區、音樂觀海臺、地下購物商場六大區域。音樂廣場的中心景觀是“音樂之帆”，它高20米，通體乳白色，帳篷下面有一架巨大鋼琴，由中國海洋大學研製的，俗稱“鋼琴王”。演出時，必須有兩個人同時來彈奏，另外，音樂廣場有專業音響和多個背景音樂，遊人無論在何處，均可以得到音樂的享受。
