小滿時苦菜總是很活躍，它們已經漸漸長大，成熟了，探出了一片片碧綠碧綠的小腦袋。許多人們在挖着它，吃着它，為了降低身體裏的燥熱火氣。小麥的籽粒已經 很飽滿充足了，纖細的身子在微風中舞蹈着，非常快樂。但在這個時候，農民叔叔們總是很小心翼翼地保護着它們，不讓破壞者乾熱風傷害它們。還有一羣活潑可愛的“小娃娃”-蠶寶寶，在這個時候 總是需要細心呵護與照料的，它們會結成一團白花花的繭，這時，它們就像貴婦人一樣趴着，特別嬌 氣。因此，人們經常在小滿時節舉行一場 盛大的儀式-祈蠶節，希望來年養蠶能有個好收成。
