尊敬的各位教授，各位同學，各位家長，各位老師：

大家好。

distinguished professors, students, parents and teachers:

good afternoon!

今天是XX屆全體畢業生的大日子!這是值得同學們一生銘記的最重要、最難忘的時刻。我代表學校，向圓滿完成學業的1884名本科同學、向第一批獲得翻譯碩士專業學位的49名研究生同學，表示最熱烈的祝賀!同時，也請同學們以最熱烈的掌聲，向你們的父母、敬愛的老師以及同窗好友表示衷心的感謝。感謝他們一直以來的關心、培養與勉勵!

today is a significant and beautiful day for all graduates. it is one which you will remember for the rest of your lives. on behalf of the university, i would like to extend our warmest congratulations to you all. let us give applause and show our appreciation to those who have helped along the way.

同學們，經過了四年的磨鍊，你們付出了辛勤的勞動，經歷了漫長的努力、等待和幾多個不眠之夜。大學就像人生驛站，有微笑也有感悟，你們所有人都跨越同一個人生階段，獲得了任何人都不能從你們手中奪走的智慧與才幹。每年的這個時候，我都遇到同樣的你們，心情複雜、激動，充滿憧憬與感慨。今天，最後一刻，在你們即將合上你們人生之中非常珍貴的一章，我希望你們不要因為沒有獲得最好的成績而內疚，也不要為沒有找到最滿意的工作而感到沮喪。對於你們，人生的考試和作業剛剛開始。

dear students, you have devoted much of your time and endeavors to your academic pursuits and university life. you have made extraordinary efforts to be where you are today. university life is colorful and full of smiles, inspiration and life lessons. at this time of year, i can see students are excited, hopeful and cautious about their future. today is for celebrating achievement. lets focus on what you have, instead of what you do not. life has only just begun.

太多的日子裏，以太多的方式，親愛的同學們，以你們的求知慾、堅持和以為教育能使社會、生活更加美好，堅定的信念激勵着我，激勵着所有的老師，使我們始終堅持並踐行這樣的教育理想：不僅要傳授知識和技能，還要培養健全的人格，使同學們知識、能力、人格全面發展。與其他許多大學相比，也許華外的管理過於嚴格，華外的要求有些瑣碎。但我堅信，正是嚴格的、精細化的管理，以及對於公益精神、社會責任感的堅守，鑄就並在你們身上彰顯了華外獨特的精神氣質。此時此刻，我自豪地告訴大家，你們無論走到哪裏，都是不同凡響，必將贏得尊重，深受歡迎!

we have been inspired by your desire for knowledge, perseverance and faith in the power of education. we must adhere to the educational ideal---- a universities responsibility is not restricted to imparting knowledge and skill. it is also to cultivate the development of students character. huawai has many regulations. we uphold these standards, so that you maybe better equipped to be responsible members of society. i am confident that you will be outstanding, respected and welcome, wherever you go.

同學們，大學是為學生而存在。在你們離開校園之際，我要衷心地感謝你們。過去的四年，華外持續健康發展，高舉公益大旗，堅持非營利性辦學，以開展國家教育體制改革試點單位為契機，辦學層次實現新的跨越，人才培養質量得到顯著提高，發展環境明顯改善，辦學聲譽和社會影響力大幅提升。去年，在教育部等部門大力支持下，我校等26所民辦高校發起成立了非營利性民辦高校聯盟，並當選為首屆主席單位。華外事業的點滴進步，都凝聚着你們的汗水;學校前進的每一個步伐都留下了你們拼搏進取的印記。在此，我代表學校向你們道一聲：謝謝!感謝你們對學校的支持與奉獻;感謝你們對學校的理解與寬容;感謝你們為學校不斷添光加彩!

dear students, the university exists to serve those who wish to learn. at this moment of parting, i would like to give my sincere thanks to you. by acting as the pilot university of education reforms, huawai has undergone steady and fast development. as a result, the talent of our graduates has increased greatly. last year, 26 private universities, including our own, came together and established the not for profit, private university alliance. i want to thank you for your support and dedication. thank you for your understanding and determination. thank you for the honor you have achieved for your school.

親愛的同學們，今天是慶賀的日子，也是總結的日子!今天的典禮是你們生命中一個重要的轉折點。你們就要告別母校，踏上社會途程，開始你們的新生活，開始撐起你們的肩膀來挑自己的擔子。在臨別之際，作為校長、你們的老師，能夠為你們提供的幫助，還有一些特別的囑託和希望。

dear students, today, we celebrate your transition and from students to educated members of society. you are going to achieve many great things for your country and family. i would like to share the following advice with you.

第一，要堅持理想和信念，心繫祖國。我們的大學是為了公共利益而建立的。發展道德和智力是我們的主旋律。大學的發展和真正福祉從來都是與我們的國家命運休慼與共的。我想説，大學是如此，我們個人更是如此。我希望同學們能夠將自己的理想信念主動融入民族命運中，擁有世界眼光和國家意識，心繫祖國，回報社會，有責任和義務承擔起推動社會發展的使命。要知道人生最重要的事情就是確定一個偉大的目標，樹立遠大的理想。因為理想是指路明燈，沒有理想，就沒有堅定的方向和有意義的人生。一個精神生活很充實的人，一定是一個很有理想的人，一定是一個很高尚的人。我希望同學們牢記“得其大者可以兼其小”。不要問國家能為你們做些什麼，而要問你們能為國家做些什麼?只有把人生理想和信念融入國家和社會的事業中，才能最終成就一番事業，成為受社會歡迎的棟樑之才。

firstly, consider your country and its future when shaping your dreams, beliefs and ambitions. this university was established for the sake of public welfare. we all have responsibilities to our country and its heritage. the most satisfying thing in life is to pursue goals. one should have a grand ideal and lofty ambitions for his country. what can you do for your country? only by aligning ourselves to national and social development, can we be successful.

第二，要堅持做人第一，崇德修身。“國無德不興，人無德不立”，做人做事第一位的是崇德修身。因為德是首要。一個人只有明大德、守公德、嚴私德，其才方能用得其所。荷塞.馬蒂説過“最困難的職業就是怎樣為人”，希望同學們參加工作崗位後，要先學會做人。要講誠信，因為誠信是做人之根本，立業之基。誠信的約束不僅來自外界，更來自我們的自律心態和自身的道德力量;要講修養，修養的本質如同人的性格，最終能夠歸結到道德情操上;要養成良好的習慣，習慣的力量是驚人的，它經年累月地影響着我們的品德，決定着我們的成敗;要具有高度的責任感，責任感是一個人品格和能力的承載，是道德評價的最基本的標準。同學們，要做最優秀的人。最優秀的人不懼怕責備，也不期求讚美。最優秀的人就是把最好的東西奉獻出來的人，就是以某種方式作出做大努力的人。

second, learn how to be a good person, cultivate your morality. josé martí says, the toughest job is to be a man. be honest, cultured, responsible and develop good habits. great people are not afraid of blame, nor do they expect recognition. instead, they act on what they perceive to be right.

第三，要堅持學習和思考，積蓄能量。我們知道，所有的教育和學習都是終身的。不向前不知道路遠，不學習不明白真理。看書和學習是思想的經常營養，是思想的無窮髮展。古往今來，一切成就事業，對人類有所作為的，無不是腳踏實地，艱苦攀登的結果。大學畢業，人生並沒有畢業，在科技進步日新月異的時代，學習和思考比以往任何時候都變得更加繁重而迫切。希望同學們樹立終身學習的理念，要知道，學習必須與實幹相結合，要從書本中學習，更要從生活中、實踐中學習。要有獨立思考的能力和自我反省的力量，沒有真正獨立深刻的思考，就難以作出正確的決斷，日後難以形成自己對社會、對人生的深刻認識。真正的學習不僅僅是知識性學習，而且是精神性學習，我們需要通過學習喚醒潛能，通過喚醒潛能，獲得生命價值。正所謂“大志非才不就，大才非學不成”。“鳥欲高飛先振翅，人求上進先讀書。”如果不想在世界上虛度一生，那就要學習一輩子。學習—永遠不晚!

thirdly, keep learning, thinking and accumulating energy. education is a life long process. graduation does not mark the end of your learning. learning and remaining vigilant is now more important than ever before. we should find strength within independent thought and self reflection. learning is not a destination. it as a journey of self discovery.

第四，要學會生活，做一個成功的人。生活是生命中最為重要的組成部分。生活的目標是什麼?不同的人有不同的答案，但有一點是共同的：我們每一個人都應當追求幸福的生活，有意義的生活!當你們離開母校，走進真實社會後，希望同學們遇事要冷靜，面對困難與坎坷不要急躁，要堅韌、淡定、樂觀;要學會包容、學會感恩;要有正確的價值導向，抵制誘惑、防止功利。要使公益精神與文化、“簡單做人、踏實做事”、“天下大事必從細而做”成為你們一生的行為準則。同學們，世界上沒有一條成功的路是由鮮花鋪成的。首先，要學會計劃自己的事業，計劃在一個人成功的一生中起到開端的作用。還要有信念，信念是比鋼還硬的東西，可以支持一個人經歷風雨。自古以來有建樹的人，都離不開一個“苦”字。值得你做的每件事，實際上都相當難做，都得花大力氣!同學們，路是踏出來的，歷史是書寫出來的。一個偉大的行動和思想,都有一個微不足道的開始。要想成功必須從小事做起，從自我做起。當一個人一心一意做好事情，堅持到底的時候，當一個人堅持做真實的自己，做最好的自己的時候，他最後必然成功。成功無捷徑!

fourth, learn to live your own life, and be a successful person. decide what goals you will pursue, and once you have, remain hopeful. stay clam and positive in the face of trouble. learn to tolerate others and be grateful. when pursuing a goal there is always a danger of setbacks and difficulties. dear students, every journey begins with a single step. every book begins with a single word. when someone stays true to their dream and does their best, success undoubtedly follows.

希望同學們要牢記，失敗的理由有成千上萬個,而成功的理由只有一個,那就是一定要成功!不要問世界對你有何期待，主要是你對自己有何期待。沒有人能夠確切地知道未來，然而，我相信，你們能夠盡施才華，盡展能力去迎接未來!讓我們一起創造與共享吧!祝福你們——我親愛的同學們!

dear students, there are thousands of reasons to fail, and only one to succeed. do not ask yourself “what does the world expect of me?”. what truly matters is your own personal expectation. i am convinced you can all reach your utmost potential. you all have a bight future ahead of you. huawai looks forward to sharing your future successes. i wish you all a bright future.
