5. New Skills and Information Gained

Definitely, the over 10 days’ internship improves my translation skill greatly and familiarize me with the materials about the company’s association articles, regulations, etc. In addition, I get to know what documents shall be presented to the immigrant bureau.

6. Difficulties Encountered

During that period, I inevitably encountered a lot of difficulties but luckily within my management. For the technical terms, I always turn to the internet for help. For the figures, especially those over millions or billions, I ask myself to hold my breath and be patient. Many words are found hard to express although they are with highly frequent use in Chinese. Therefore I should often refer to the internet where it may give a clue.

7. My Shortcomings

Figures are always my headache. I will be at sea and lose my thought when facing a large number of figures. Sometime they wander my mind, daze me and even mess up if I am not careful enough. But numbers or figures does matter in every aspect which even a slight mistake will make a big difference and bring into great trouble.

實習的概況：

這是WMGP第一次招收Intern性質的實習生。這次實習一共有六個清華的學生，4個在深圳總部，2個在上海。每個人都被分在不同的部門，但是總體的實習安排大致相同，基本上都是在不同的部分輪換學習。但是我們每個人的實習時間都不相同，人事部在確定時間時考慮了每個人的不同情況而進行了安排，這也體現出沃爾瑪作為零售服務業而具有的稀植和尊重。我的實習期一共七週，每天都有不同的學習任務。

WMGP的概況:

WMGP前身是香港的一家外貿代理商。20xx年底沃爾瑪將之收購併搬遷到了深圳，20xx年4月正式運作。他承擔了聯接海外沃爾瑪商店的Buyer(買手)和本土外Supplier(供應商)之間的橋樑作用。具體而言就是為海外供應商選擇恰當的產品供應商，並負責對供應商的聯絡和管理工作。WMGP在深圳有兩個分支，一個是國際總部;一個是深圳運營部;上海也有一個分支，上海運營部;中國的東莞和中國台灣等地方還有一些職能部。剩下的分支就分佈在世界各地。其中按採購量計算，中國採購的商品總量達到全部WMGP採購的近80%。而WMGP的採購量佔沃爾瑪全部採購量的10%多。 5d

WMGP的蓬勃發展：

自成立以來，WMGP就取得了飛速的發展。主要原因是中國世界工廠的地位給海外沃爾瑪提供了非常廉價的商品，從而產生了新的利潤增長點。據報道，WMGP20xx年的採購總量達到150億美元之多，而且正以每年30%的速度發展。我在實習的其間也是發現公司每週都新進6、7個員工。

WMGP的企業文化：

公司非常注重對企業文化的建設，企業文化的內容非常地豐富博大。其中較基本的幾條有：天天平價(這是最常見的一個口號，就是要號召員工積極主動的為實現Every Day Low Price的承諾);三項基本理念(尊重個人，服務顧客和追求卓越);三米微笑原則(在三米之內給別人尤其是顧客展現微笑並表達友好);日落原則(在每天下班之前回顧自身的工作，並落實每一項任務);十項成功原則(沃頓先生總結得十條成功經驗，具體記不清了，有興趣可以去查看沃頓寫的自傳);很多人都試着去總結沃爾瑪獲取巨大成功的祕訣，雖然説法不一，可是都一致認為企業文化建設是非常重要的一面。由此也可以看出國際型大公司對企業文化的重視。

WMGP的管理氛圍：

公司提倡公僕領導的理念，就是要求上級主動去關心和幫助下屬、並努力去培訓下屬已達到成功的目標。這點我體會非常深刻：我的mentor是個香港人，名叫Andy。我記得他從來沒有打電話跟我商量事情，一般都是主動地跑到我座位上，主動詢問我需要什麼幫助，或者有什麼想法。並且三次請我去吃飯，真是讓我感覺到了保姆般的關心。另外，公司裏面都是直呼其名，每個員工都有一個英文名字，這個英文名字加上中國人的姓就成為中國人的公司通用代碼。而打招呼時大家都是隻講英文文字，不論級別多高。加上企業文化體現的友好氛圍，所以很多時候都感覺不出來上下級的關係。WMGP對員工的作息沒有硬性的規定，工作比較彈性，當然前提是要能完成任務。公司在休息間裏設有乒乓球桌、小型枱球桌和一個手控足球桌。一個小時的午飯時間就有很多人在那裏娛樂。我也經常去那裏玩乒乓球，樂在其中。另外，聽説公司的員工可以在每個月毫無理由的休息半天。不過，我一直沒有想到要試一下。

友善而優秀的員工：

我接觸到的公司員工都非常的友好，很願意幫助人。並且大部分人都來自不同的背景，有香港人、中國台灣人、菲律賓人、美國人等等，有歸國華僑、海外留學人員、教師，還聽説有個從花旗銀行過來的員工。跟這些人接觸使我感到很高興。這些人裏面不乏優秀分子，其中招聘我們的Karen就是受人仰慕的魅力女性之一，她有着傳奇的經歷、豐富的閲歷和淵博的知識。

國際採購流程：

國際採購流程被稱作為“直接進口”。一個企業要成為沃爾瑪的供應商並完成一次供貨，一般要經歷好幾個重要的步驟：Buying Trip(海外的Buyer來中國參加供應商的樣品選型並落實採購計劃，下訂單等後續工作);FC(工廠認證，以確保工廠沒有僱用童工、沒有超時加班、沒有安全隱患等);QA(質量檢查，在生產過程中和生產結束基本都會安排一次產品質量檢查);Shipping(跟沃爾瑪的第三方物流夥伴馬士基聯繫裝船，並提供給沃爾瑪所有的有效單據);Payment(沃爾瑪開信用證給供應商);其中這些步驟中又有很多的細節，可能遇到很多問題要實時處理。所以，直接進口的供貨採購週期一般都要多出國內採購很多。這也是為什麼並不是所有的中國廉價產品都能通過這種方式到達海外商店的原因之一。

實習感受：

這次實習使我受益匪淺，並且接觸到了很多有意思的東西。通過跟Buyer的接觸，加深了對其他國家文化的理解;通過跟不同Supplier的接觸也讓我有機會對珠江三角洲的工業狀況有些感性的認識，更重要的是讓自己更加體會到成功的藴義。當然作為零售業的一部分，在WMGP也使得你必須學會跟不同素質的人打交道的技巧，同時可能在實際的工作中直接應用自己知識的機會比較少，而往往需要自己注重細節，精益求精地做好每一件小事。
