英語專業論文答辯注意事項

一、答辯開場白

Good morning.

Distinguished professors and teachers, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for attending the oral defense. (或Welcome to attend the oral defense.)

I am XXX. Firstly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my supervisor XXX, for his intellectual guidance, invaluable instructions and comments on my thesis. It is with his valuable assistance that I have finally accomplished this thesis.

My topic is XXXXXXXXX.

The whole thesis consists of --- parts.

The first part will give a brief introduction of ------.

And the second part is going to analyze ----------.

In the third part, ---------will be further discussed and the fourth part is to talk about --------. Then the author will dig into the root causes of ------- in the fifth part, and sum up the whole paper to reveal --------of ---------in the last part.

二、英語專業學生論文答辯答辯程序：

英語專業的論文答辯主要分為兩部分：自我陳述和回答答辯老師問題，下面對這兩部分進行詳細講解。

(一)、自述(用英語完成)：

1、先問好，再開始自述，自述時間為5-8分鐘，要簡明扼要，必須時可將自述內容提綱製作成Powerpoint文件。

2、主要陳述內容：

(1)自己選擇這個題目的原因;

(2)設計和實施的簡單過程(如，商務方向：採用什麼方法來蒐集信息、資料等);

(3)自己論文的主要內容(不要念論文，最好用4、5句話簡單介紹論文內容，如，商務方向：做了哪些調查，得出什麼結論，計劃如何實施項目);

(4)仍然存在的問題(如，商務：在實施項目中可能會遇到的風險以及如何解決);

3、最好準備相關文字並熟記(答辯時要脱稿陳述，但是可以看PPT文件)。

4、語言最好簡單清楚，不要直接用論文中內容，應該用解釋性的句式，如：When I was designing the lessons, I found that….

(二)、回答老師問題(老師用英語提問，學生用英語回答)：

1、大約有4-6個問題，時間將持續10-15分鐘。

2、首先要聽清楚問題，如果沒有聽清，可以要求老師重複問題(可以説pardon之類的話)。

3、回答時首先要態度好，要切題，而且不要保持沉默，不會時可以表示抱歉。

4、常見問題：

(1)Will you please give us a self-introduction? 有些學生可能由於緊張沒聽清問題便開始背誦論文的內容，結果造成答非所問。

(2)Give us a presentation of your thesis. 有些學生一聽到thesis便詳細而又不理解地背誦其論文內容, 在被打斷之後便不知該説什麼。其實, 考官只是想知道你對論文的總體瞭解, 讓你簡單闡明自己論文的內容與觀點。

(3)Why do you choose such a theme?/ What do you want the reader get from your thesis? 對於這個問題，你可以談談你的喜好，你想要讀者從中得到什麼。

(4)What is the uniqueness of your point of view? 對於這個問題，你可以談談你的觀點與他人不同之處及原因。這就要求你有相關知識。

之後便是針對你的論文的問題了。

(5)關於選題：如Why did you choose this topic for your paper?或Why were you interested in this project?

(6)關於具體部分：

商務方向：SWOT，COSTING，FLOWCHART，RISK，STAKEHOLDER，如Do you think is this a necessary activity for the project?

(7)關於背景知識及理論知識：如What does SWOT stand for?(商務)

(8)關於論文存在的問題：如In the last sentence on page … there are some grammatical errors.

(9)關於項目或論文將來的發展：如：商務方向：If possible, will you carry out the project, and if so, do you think it will make profit?

5、帶一份定稿(要與老師們持有的論文頁碼一致)。

6、最後要向老師們表示感謝。

總之，要通過論文答辯，應注意：

1. 在平時的學習過程中必須注意提高自己的聽説能力。

2. 答辯前應做好充分的準備，最重要的是熟悉論文的內容及自己的觀點。這一點十分重要，如果不熟悉論文的內容及自己的觀點，答辯時很難自圓其説。

3. 要有自信心。當然，自信心主要來自事先的充分準備。
